Here until page six. This is the Thief King's actual death 3000 years ago, not the death of the NPC Thief King in the RPG (which is what the manga actually depicts). It's safe to assume that in reality the Thief King died bleeding out physically and spiritually on the altar, rather than turning to sand, since the sand is just how NPCs are disposed of. Otherwise, things are pretty much the same: Diabound is destroyed and the Thief King dies still delusional over his importance.

This memory also includes the only-vaguely-conscious sensory memory of his soul being absorbed by the Millennium Ring, as well as part of Zorc joining it there eventually. Shes won't really realize what happened, though -- he lacks the context for it. He'll remember the feeling, though.

What he learned:
- So that's how he died. Seriously, not pleasant!!
- It was the Pharaoh's fault he died, which is terrible, because he really wanted to kill the Pharaoh instead.
- Apparently opening the doors to darkness was going to summon a dark god? HUH.
- Why is the Pharaoh in the Puzzle and still around 3000 years later as well...?

What it says on the tin. This includes what he knew when he was alive (some hieroglyphics), what he gained later (a lot MORE hieroglyphics and hieratic), and what he absorbed from hanging out in Bakura Ryou's head (high school level Japanese). Of course, he hasn't regained the Japanese language itself yet, so that last one is pretty useless at the moment.

Oh, look, a memory I can actually link to because the translation is fine. Starts here, goes through page 16.

Bakura Ryou is in control, here. Dark Bakura's just sitting back and going lolololol at Malik's acting.

What he learned:
- Getting injured was part of a plan to get Malik in with Yuugi's friends.
- Host being clueless is just so goddamn useful.
- Malik acting cheerful and worried is super hilarious.

Battle City Yuugi Duel, part three: SCREW YOU, MALIK, I'M TAKING OSIRIS'S ATTACK RIGHT IN MY FACE. [24.208-24.209]

From: Alice's bottled feelings game.
Form: a little bottle
Shareable: 1/2

Dark Bakura is about to lose the first duel of the semifinals due to Osiris being summoned, when Malik reveals his backup plan: he uses the Rod to restore Ryou's control over the body and dares Atem to attack his already-injured friend. Though he's impressed, Bakura gets angry and tells Malik that he has "ways [he] likes to win and ways [he] doesn't like to win." He forces his way back into control and tells Atem he's won the duel -- he can attack and Bakura will shield Ryou from it. Osiris attacks, and both Bakuras are out for the count.

This is a pretty complicated memory, honestly. On the one hand, it's entirely possible Malik's plan would have paid off. On the other hand, his host being injured (by... anyone who isn't him) is not something he's willing to risk. He's too important -- not because of his individual identity or anything, but because he's essential to Bakura's long-term plans. This is my tool, you can't break him, etc. Plus, you know, Malik didn't tell him about this ahead of time. So even though he can admire Malik's plans, they're too much of a potential threat to his long-term goals for him to go along with them. He's willing to concede and even be injured if it means the pieces will fall into place better in the long run.

What he learned:
- Oh, so that's why he was mad at Malik in that other memory. This won't ruin his relationship with Teir in Aather or anything, since he already knows that they're working together again in the future, and the points of contention in the memory (Bakura Ryou, the Millennium Items, Atem) aren't an issue here.
- God Cards hurt.
- More confirmation that his eventual plans involve "the door to darkness" and gathering the Items.

From: Masked Lady's fukuwarai game.
Form: an agar eyeball with a Kunzite iris
Shareable: no

At some point before the beginning of the manga, Bakura Ryou is given the Millennium Ring by his father, who bought it from an antique shop in Egypt. I am assuming he was in middle school at the time, and that Amane had already died, though if anyone ever apps host Bakura to Aather we can obviously talk about timing and stuff. In any case, this memory is a memory of sort of "waking up" from a period of dormancy in the Ring and getting acclimated to his new host. Taking over and then examining the body, picking through some of Ryou's memories, etc. Verdict: this host is a great match, even if he's small and fragile. Oh well, nothing's perfect.

What he learned:
- How Bakura Ryou got the Ring!
- some general knowledge about his host's family situation.
+++possessiveness over host THIS IS MINE AND I AM KEEPING IT
isfet: (No waterboarding the undead!)
SKILL: physical conditioning/fighting

Shes now has the physical strength-related skills one would expect someone living the whole Ancient Egyptian tomb robber lifestyle to have. He can pretty easily scale walls, cart around a bunch of heavy treasure like it ain't no thang, jump onto moving guillotine blades of death, etc. He also has his fighting skills back, which are mostly of the scrappy street brawler kind involving fists (even while wearing Bakura Ryou's body he's able to beat people up pretty effectively, so one assumes he's pretty good) and knives. If you gave him other weapons from his time period -- like a bow or a spear -- he'd probably know what to do with them, but not in any particularly skilled manner.

Oh boy we're back in "this is significantly different from the anime" territory! Which is to say that how Dark Bakura gets himself out of the hospital and into the Battle City finals isn't actually shown in the manga except for two pages, so I'll do a quick rundown of what we do see and how it's different from the anime's take on it:

- Malik doesn't make an appearance -- in fact, it's implied that Dark Bakura simply wanted to be present for the finals due to his own motives ("Seems like the blood-stained Millennium Battle's beginning after this... Like I'd want such a fun show to start without me, hahaha..!!").
- Poor Grandpa Mutou gets knocked around enough as it is and no mention of him being injured is made so I'm just going to assume Dark Bakura slipped out of the hospital without Ancient Egyptian Laser Beam Auras coming into play.
- He did not get all the Puzzle Cards from Kotsuzuka -- he specifically mentions robbing other participants of theirs as well, so this memory includes that as well.
- Also, uh, as far as Shadow Games go... Kotsuzuka's punishment for losing isn't getting swallowed by shadows or anything. He just dies.

...

CARD GAMES ARE SERIOUS BUSINESS.

What he learned:
- CAAAARD GAAAAAMES 8U More about his deck, really.
- I just killed a guy through a game. WELP OKAY SURE.
- Huh that's weird I'd expect a gash on my arm like that to hurt more...

This isn't shown in the manga, but after the battle with Mahaad, the Thief King's effectively stuck in Akhenamkanon's tomb because they sealed the front door... 8|a So this is him figuring an alternate way out of there, which, judging by how exhausted and hungry he is in his next appearance, kind of. Takes a while.

What he learned:
- He had the Millennium Ring while he was still alive. Apparently he stole it off some magician-priest? So his attempt to collect the Items began before he died.
- He's familiar with the layout of the tomb, which means he's been there before.
- Being stuck in a tomb full of deathtraps with extremely limited food and water isn't much fun, let's not do that again.

Oh look it's his first memory of playing Duel Monsters himself. This memory covers Dark Bakura and Malik interrupting Dark Malik in his attempt to kill Rishid, a bunch of Malik-related exposition, and the first two turns of the duel. At the end of Dark Malik's turn, Dark Bakura loses 500 life points and most of his left arm.

What he learned:
- Why Qamar was trying to kill Rishid, whoops. Also that Malik killed his dad.
- His own goals involved opening a "door" to release some kind of "dark power."
- Shadi should have already been dead five years ago.
- CHILDREN'S CARD GAMES ARE SERIOUS BUSINESS especially when Shadow Games involving spirit-eating monsters are involved.

Malik already wrote up how we're handling this memory here!

What he learned:
- WELP. THAT. SURE IS TEIR. That sure is Teir asking for help disposing of Qamar! The later part isn't quite as surprising since Teir has already told Shes about Qamar taking over and trying to kill Rishid, but. Uh. Apparently he knows Teir outside of Aather! THAT IS A THING.
- He's angry at Teir for something that happened previously, but he's still willing to help him.
- Teir has one of the Millennium Items. The carvings on his back also relate to the Items. UM??

I'm not sure if I can fully predict how this is going to play out, but this is a great first memory of Malik to get back, goshhh.

Pegasus's backstory: hey, I think I remember part of that. [15.132]

From: Chance's kissing game
Form: a chocolate coin wrapped in kunzite-colored foil

As a note, this is the memory of Pegasus explaining how he got the Millennium Eye, rather than Dark Bakura's (admittedly probably fuzzy) memory of the actual event. The Ring was present at the time, so he will be getting back the actual memory, it's just listed separately.

I can actually link to this one since it's an okay translation. However! When the thief says "P-Please! I'm sorry I stole it... Please don't kill me!" he's actually saying "Please save me! I was manipulated into stealing the treasure! So please at least spare my life..." In other words, one can assume that it was the Spirit of the Millennium Ring attempting to engineer an escape from the Tombkeepers rather than some guy trying to make off with the Ring.

What he learned:
- Pegasus mentions that the Millennium Items have "an evil will." Shes has already remembered himself mentioning something similar about the Items having willpower. So... confirmation on that. Also confirmation on something about the Pharaoh...
- Kul Elna. Kul Elna. The Items were in Kul Elna. Why? Is this why he's looking for them? Because they have something to do with Kul Elna? Why did Shadi say that Kul Elna was a village of thieves? SOMETHING IS VERY NOT RIGHT HERE.
- Knowledge of what happens if someone who isn't a rightful holder of an Item attempts to claim one. So now he knows why he was so confident Otogi wouldn't be able to solve the puzzle. Also ++ smugness over having found Bakura Ryou, since he's such a good host.

Nighttime castle antics with Honda. [13.112-13.114]

From: Three's elevator game.
Form: a gold coin
Shareable: 7/8

Around midnight, both Honda and Dark Bakura sneak out of their rooms in Pegasus's castle -- Honda to try to rescue Mokuba and Kaiba, Bakura to stare creepily at Shadi's painting. Bakura is caught by the guards, but has given control back to Bakura Ryou (who is let go because he does such a good job of appearing harmless and confused '-'). After a whispered discussion with Honda, Bakura Ryou agrees to provide a distraction while Honda sneaks past the guards. Honda is caught, though, and it isn't until 4:30 AM that Dark Bakura shows up and knocks out a guard to come save him (and Mokuba). What was Bakura doing between distracting the guards and the rescue? Probably scoping out the castle, since he knows where to find Pegasus later.

I should note that this is pretty different from what happens in the anime! Both in terms of timing and how the rescue plays out. Dark Bakura is not interested in possessing Mokuba's body. He apparently just rescues Honda and Mokuba for shits and giggles! Or to seem helpful, though we're not shown if Honda realizes that it's the spirit of the Ring rescuing him and not Bakura Ryou (he later thinks that something's off about Bakura, but he doesn't specifically mention the Ring). There is also no summoning of monsters into the real world.

What he learned:
- This is the first memory he's had that involves switching in and out of control of Bakura Ryou's body. Host is pretty useful for deflecting suspicion, HMM.
- He was surprised to see Shadi's portrait! Apparently this is someone he knows. Again, HMMMMM.
++ general scheming...

The Millennium Ring is pointing to the castle; Bakura is more and more interested in the Items themselves. [10.85]

From: Green Knight's love game

The guys are sleeping outside in the woods of Duelist Kingdom. After an earlier incident withh Honda and snakes, Bakura Ryou wakes everyone up by suddenly shouting because he got a strange feeling from the Millennium Ring and when he pulled it out, it started pointing at the castle. Ryou mentions that when he transferred to Domino High School, the Ring acted similarly around Yuugi's puzzle, so clearly it reacts to the presence of other Millennium Items. Ryou thinks that no matter what, he wants to know the mysteries behind the Items: what are they, where did they come from, etc. He thinks that maybe Pegasus can answer some of those questions. Yuugi tells Ryou that no matter what, he shouldn't put the Ring on, because it's dangerous. Ryou smiles and says that he won't. They all lie back down to try to sleep again.

What he learned:
- BAKURA RYOU this is the first memory he's had where both of them are fully conscious at the time. He is very interested to find out more about his host.
- The fact that Yuugi warned Bakura against putting on the Ring is interestingggggg.

This is the first modern memory Shes has gotten back where he's not actually in control of Bakura Ryou's body. He has some awareness of what's going on around him, but not much at the beginning -- he's still recovering from losing the Monster World game, not that he'll have that context when he takes the memory. So quite a bit of the initial leadup to Duelist Kingdom, the boat ride, and the first duels are going to kind of blur together for him. But by the time "The Dark Player Killer" is defeated, he's fully conscious and biding his time.

What he learned:
⇢ He's not directly residing in Bakura Ryou's body. Also, more about his host in general.
⇢ Children's card games are serious business.
+ a little more modern knowledge
+ darkness affinity thanks to starting to remember what being in the Millennium Ring is really like (stats updated to reflect this)

I can only find truly terrible scanlations to link to so. LET ME SUMMARIZE. Dark Bakura heads to Black Crown Games, sensing that someone's messing with the Millennium Puzzle (note: it's possible Bakura Ryou had something to do with allowing him to come there, since he seemed the most concerned about Yuugi earlier). He muses on how the Millennium Items will have to be brought together eventually, and since Yuugi is useful as the rightful holder of the Millennium Puzzle, right now anyone who threatens Yuugi is his enemy. Then he beats up a bunch of security guards and storms into the back room where the DDD game is taking place. He rags on Otogi and says to Yuugi that he's here to confirm that Yuugi's the appropriate holder of the Millennium Puzzle -- if he is, of course he'll win the game. The memory ends with Yuugi turning things around and winning. (It does NOT include the aftermath of the game where he Parasite Minds the Puzzle fragment, and gives Bakura Ryou control back.)

What he learned:
The big thing he's going to take out of this is that the other memory wasn't a fluke. He can't just brush it off anymore. GODDAMMIT. Most of the stuff he talks about in the memory is going to go right over his head because he'll be focusing on that, but he'll pick up on:
⇢ Millennium Items are super important and only certain people can have them. Something something the king's memories. He has the Millennium Ring, this Yuugi kid has the Millennium Puzzle, and… that guy he murdered in the other memory had the Millennium Eye… '-'
⇢ Yuugi distrusts him, and with good reason.

What it says on the tin. Kul Elna was destroyed when Bakura was around 6 years old, and after that he was on his own. This memory covers all of the mundane terribleness he had to deal with while he was learning how to survive.

What he learned:
⇢ Mostly this just fills in some gaps for him: how he went from a happy kid with parents and a village he loved to a lone thief. Or, at least, he thinks it fills in the gaps -- he doesn't realize how much he's still missing.
⇢ He'd already suspected that his family was dead due to previous memories, but now he knows he lost them at a very young age :( At this point he's more likely to assume it was from something normal like illness.

... yeah so I totally just wanted another Egypt memory so he'd have memory whiplash after his last one. This memory is him pulling his first solo tomb heist of any note at around age 13. Previously he would just join in on group jobs where he was mostly useful because he could fit in small spaces the other thieves couldn't. Which means he didn't get much of the loot at all, assuming they didn't just cheat him out of it completely. But this time he did it himself and he's super proud of the fact. Who needs other people, they just slow him down! He's gonna be the king of thieves!!1!

So basically this is the memory of sneaking back to Pegasus's dueling arena and... killing him by yanking the Millennium Eye out of his eyesocket. And then licking it afterwards. And bursting into maniacal laughter.

What he learned:
⇢ ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
⇢ NO REALLY WHAT I DON'T
⇢ IS THIS EVEN MY MEMORY?
⇢ This is the first memory Shes has gotten of inhabiting Bakura Ryou's body. Not that he remembers who Bakura Ryou is. He just knows that he's in a different body and there's someone else in there too and that's really weird what's going onnnnnn.
⇢ This is also his first memory of the modern world! It's brief enough that he's still not going to recognize most pieces of modern technology or other stuff he wouldn't have known about in Ancient Egypt, but it's really obvious that the setting is different.
⇢ He's going to be unsettled over how gleeful he is in this memory. Shes doesn't have a problem with killing people if it's necessary, but in this memory he takes a great visceral joy in it.
⇢ What the hell is a "Millennium Eye" what.

Gained from Chesh's Apples-to-Apples.

AKA being a YGO character-- I MEAN WAIT NO. Bakura is very quick to catch on to the rules of games and puzzles, and has an extremely good spacial memory for even complicated mazes. Examples involving games/puzzles include being the only one other than Atem to figure out the Meikyuu Brothers' door trick and picking up on the rules of DDD after only observing a round or so (okay so it's pretty much Duel Monsters but IGNORING THAT) to the point where he can see how Yuugi will win before either of the players do.

As for mazes, I'll let him speak for himself. During his battle with Mahaad, where he's been sealed inside the previous Pharaoh's tomb, he uses the traps designed to keep thieves out to his benefit: "Isn't it ironic? Once I've robbed a tomb, I know all its traps by heart..." (Viz translation)

Of course this all assumes his player doesn't makes dumb mistakes during games or something '-'
